Spring is the best time of the year at Clear Lake. If you would like a personal tour please phone us on 03 53871503 or leave a message below. The 335 acres is tucked away on an unnamed lane off Edmonds Lane, which is near the Clear Lake Harrow Road and the Clear lake Sherwoods Dam Road intersection. Gates are all locked, so if you want to have a look give me a call. A second access is via farmland and is a bit more complex, but easier in all weather conditions. Asking price is down to $159,000 which compared with other land in the area is a good deal. With a Trust for Nature Covenant in place you can be assured that this land is well on its way to achieving an environmental balance that takes years to develop. It is Lot 124 Parish of Carchap and in Horsham Rural City Council.

Winter in the Wimmera is typically clear blue skies and cold nights, so once again we took Kell and Kenny the Eastern Grey Kangaroos for a long walk around my Clear Lake property. They are stronger and bigger and really enjoyed a hoot around, dodging between the trees and stretching their legs. It was nice to see the Golden Wattles still flowering, the Flame Heath seems to have flowered earlier this season, but we caught some of them. The Callitris or Native Pine have just had a growth spurt putting on about 25cm and have good seed pods, a bit of a change from the drought years. Winter is all about the trees, so it is so good to see the Desert Banksia in flower and the bees enjoying the flower heads.

We took the wildlife foster care kangaroos(Kenny & Kell) for a walk around my Clear Lake property over Easter. The Flame Heath and Hibbertia are about to take over the ground cover with a sea of red and yellow flowers. Awesome time to take a look! Some good patches of Kangaroo grass are finally establishing themselves. Definitely a long term project getting a variety of native grasses well established. We do need to sell to some one who will appreciate such things! Scroll down for more photos and lots of information about this special conservation property for sale. This is a beautiful and secluded location, but still close enough for a Melbourne get-a-way. No passing traffic and quiet bush splendor. Wild flowers dominate the landscape with a changing display of colour with the seasons. Resident kangaroos and emus, echnidas and plenty of bird life, including the endangered Red Tailed Black Cockatoo.
4wd is an advantage for access but not essential. The access road is not even on most maps! The land joins the Jilpanger Flora and Fauna Park that creates a vegetation link all the way to Mt Arapiles.
Located about 45 km SW of Horsham, 29km from Natimuk. The area is a combination of farming and bushland with significant numbers of salt and fresh water lakes that adds to the ambiance of living or visiting the area.
Our property has a Trust for Nature Covenant on the Title meaning that it cannot be developed or cleared. So it must be sold to a like minded conservationist. If you are one of these give me a call…. we can continue to help and assist in conservation activities if needed.

Sometimes 335 acres or 135 hectares sounds like a lot of land to look after. The bush in this area is pretty low maintenance. Rabbits and weeds are the only real regular chores and we are able to continue doing this if we can keep doing seed collection if that helps!
There are a number of land owners in the general vicinity that are Melbourne based and travel up for the total peace and relaxation that they find here. No power, no piped water and no bills except rates and just collecting some fire wood for personal use covers that cost! The weather in the Wimmera is usually great. Clear blue skies and cool nights. Perfect really, but I’m biased… come and have a look!
